We undertook a full Topographical survey and laser scan for our client Hartlepool borough council and their chosen architects – GT3 Architects. We provided 2D & 3D information to assist with the design and planning process for a new multi-million pound leisure centre that is to be built on the former Jacksons landing site.
The new development on The Waterfront, adjacent to the town’s marina is to include three swimming pools – a main, a learner and a recreation pool; a multi-station fitness suite, flexible space for multi-activities and a refreshments area.
We utilised a combination of survey techniques and various survey equipment to successfully undertake the survey.
We opted for the Leica geosystems RTC360 which allowed us to collect large amounts of scan data accurately and quickly. (Raw scan data show in the video below). We also used the Leica geosystems MS60 Total Station to undertake the bulk of traditional Topographical survey work whilst the Leica geosystems GS18 GNSS GPS was used to establish ground control stations.
We opted to process the survey data in N4CE which was then exported into AutoCAD for final processing before delivering in both 2D & 3D Dwg. file formats.
